So often people think they need to go OUT and celebrate. With that usually comes a large price tag. We think there are many things you can do without breaking the bank. Heres our list…
Block Party:
What a great way to get the neighborhood together. Start with a BBQ, have every family bring something to share. Bring the firepit, roast marshmallows, make smores. There may be fireworks visible from your neighborhood, be sure to check. Take a walk down the block and admire everyone’s Christmas lights. It’s a safe fun way to bring in the New Year. (be sure to check with your city to see if permits are necessary)
Game night with friends:
Did someone say games? Who doesn’t love game night? How about a murder mystery? Something you can plan ahead, it costs close to nothing if you get ideas on the internet. Make up your own.
Prefer poker? Get the poker chips, I see a casino theme in your future. Have everyone come ready to play poker, and bring something themed along with a dish to share and a bottle of their favorite bubbly.
Scavenger Hunt:
All things having to do with the new year. Here is a Pinterest idea
You may be surprised how many people will be home and you may even make some new friends.
Binge on favorite movies:
All the favorites from 2019. Avengers: Endgame, Toy Story 4,
Captain Marvel, Aladdin, Spider-Man, Far from Home
The list goes on and on. Pop the popcorn, get in comfy flannels, light the fireplace and candles. Make a pot of chili and Its a cozy night in!
I think you get the idea. Be creative, have fun and just know you don’t have to spend money to make it a great New Year’s Eve.
